10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

‘Territory-born George Fragopoulos always dreamed of being a photographer but never imagined he’d be celebrating 10 fabulous years and be a multi-award-winning professional photographer by the age of 36.
With an AIPP Master of Photography, George has achieved a high level of success in the Australian photography industry. His awards include NT Advertising Photographer of the Year and NT Portrait Photographer of the Year, twice each, and four times NT Wedding Photographer of the Year. ‘I loved photography at school, but never considered it as a viable profession,’ George says. ‘While at university in Melbourne studying to be a chiropractor, I continued my love of photography by working with Melbourne-based XSiGHT Photography and Video. I further developed my craft by helping world-renowned photographers Nick and Jerry Ghionis.’ In 2009 George returned to Darwin with wife Fiona, also Darwin born, to follow his dream and establish his photography business, George F Photography. ‘While it has been challenging, I wanted to prove that with hard work I could achieve my goals,’ he says. ‘Exploring the world, connecting with many interesting people; the rewards continually outweigh the challenges, and I grow more each time.’ George is a mastermind behind the lens, creating images that tell a story. ‘I aim to communicate the essence of my client’s brand through images that are natural and real,’ he says. George and his team also shoot drone photography and video. His work covers significant events such as Darwin Turf Club’s Racing Carnival and Gala Ball, BassInTheGrass and V8 Supercars, architecture and real estate, and advertising and marketing campaigns, along with stunning corporate and portrait imagery. Clients include INPEX, NT Government (Masterbrand: Boundless Possible and NT Major Events), The GPT Group (Casuarina Square), Darwin Turf Club, Paspaley, Sitzler, Master Builders and more. George is a talented, creative professional who captures stories.’
